Summer doesn't officially start for us until the 18th. Thanks to the snow days we had!
On one hand i'm totally ready for summer, ready for not making lunches anymore, ready for not getting up so dang early. On the other hand, Jadon behaves better
at home when he's
in school because he's kept busy all day, and while I always try to plan some summer activities for the kids, its never enough.
I also try to not over schedule us during the summer because i think that down time, free time, is good for all of us!
So our plans aren't incredibly exciting. Getting the yard put in, we always go to Enchanted Forest. I'm sure we'll go swimming at the pool (although we cant go to toddler time anymore, Jadon's too old.) Derek and I have been looking into more local places to go to. And our big event is our annual Sunriver trip at the end of summer. We all look forward to that all summer!
Derek and I will have our 11th anniversary as well! :) And something crazy- we've been together for 15 years this september!!! :)
I've got both kids enrolled in soccer for the summer, we also have swimming lessons. And the humane society has a couple day camps so I signed Jadon up for one of those, and he's really excited about it! I'd also like to get Jadon involved in some volunteer work at the humane society. I think it would be good for him. Avery would LOVE it as well, but with her pet allergies, I don't know if it would be a good idea. She'll be heartbroken if she doesn't get to do it though.
And VBS of course for Jadon, (Avery gets to go next year.) One of the perks of being a bigger kid... you get to do more fun things than the little kids. I do feel bad for Avery though, she wants to do the things Jadon's doing but she's not "of age" yet.
On a different note, with as much watermelon as the kids and I have been eating.... i'm afraid we are going to turn into watermelons! Yummy!!!! :) Pretty soon the blueberries will be ready for picking, and I can't wait!!!
